I did a comic

Initial concept inspired by an old lady Adrian and I saw today in town. I actually really like this - i wasn't sure how it would turn out at first but as a quick scrawling it's alright. Might try and do more daily comics intermittent between the drawing and paintings I post on here. The weather here is appalling here at moment - makes perfect staying in and drawing weather!

Pulp International

This blog is great (check title). It's got all the old/vintagey kinda comic book covers and plenty of sexy lady imagery with an interesting twist. These are a few of my favourites.

I'm currently working on a new zine. It's called 'sexy ladies in space' - pictures will be up when complete!

Kathryn's Sketchbook

I got a moleskine the other day for the first time and this is one of the first doodles I've done in it.I bought some knitting patterns the other day and used them as references when I was drawing these people. I ended up turning them into ridiculous superheros but I was happy with it in the end. Might even do a comic about them. Never know. They're my brother's fingers holding open the book, for anyone that is interested.

I want to see 'Rude Britannia' so badly. I've really got into comic books recently. Probably not as much as I should but I'm just starting out in my comic book interest. I've just started writing and drawing my graphic novel entry for the observers competition. I'm not going to post it up here for ages but I'm really enjoying making it. It's been nice to set myself a brief over the summer because I'm missing unversity a lot. I watched this little video on the tate britain website and thought it looked really interesting. I want to paint on walls!

Days off

I've decided I really need to blog on here more. It's because I have been working all the time that I have not had chance to. I'm really interested in drawing some sort of graphic novel and set myself a project because there is something quite depressing about having to serve people in a shop all the time. I'm planning to do some sort of graphic novel about our new flat. We're living in the first floor of a six storey tower block of apartments and it's very cosey and spaticious at the same time. The only one thing I wish we had was a garden. Adrian has given me his spare copy of Quimby Mouse which is such a nice comic.
I have also found two brilliant old comics, one is called "naughty pete" (nothing dodgy) and please be careful when you type it into google to get images! I also have found "the upside downs of little lady lovekins and old man muffaroo" which are so cool because you can read them one way and then turn them upside down to read the rest.
I went to see Inception with Adrian yesterday in Brixton and we just watched antichrist,so I'm a bit traumatised right now but it's all good. I will get round to taking a photo of my new drawing and post it tommorow when it's not two oclock in the morning. Night!
